Financial Controller – Lead SaaS Finance Operations - Netherlands (On-site)

This is a contractor role (6 months) with the strong potential to extend to 12 months and become permanent . Purpose of the Role The Senior Financial Controller is responsible for safeguarding the financial health of the company. You’ll lead accounting operations, develop and implement strong internal controls, ensure compliance with international accounting standards, and manage key finance processes including revenue recognition, audits, and reporting. Your work will be crucial in enabling data-driven decisions, minimizing risk, and supporting strategic growth. You’ll collaborate closely with leadership and support the Head of Finance in financial planning and treasury functions. Key Responsibilities Oversee all core accounting functions: general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed assets Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process Ensure tax and regulatory compliance while maintaining strong internal controls Accurately manage billing, deferred revenue, and SaaS revenue recognition Liaise with external auditors and coordinate audit preparation Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls Handle tax filings and statutory reporting, including coordination with external advisors Mentor junior accounting staff and help upgrade finance systems and tools Support forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management alongside the Head of Finance Candidate Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent qualification is a plus Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, including 2 years in a SaaS company Strong expertise in revenue recognition (ASC 606 / IFRS 15) Demonstrated experience managing audits and financial compliance Hands-on experience with ERP systems and SaaS billing platforms Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail Fluent in English Based in or near Breda, Netherlands (on-site role – local applicants only) Company Benefits 8% holiday allowance Equity package Performance-based bonus Mac environment and all necessary equipment provided Annual hotel experience stay Weekly Friday team lunches Dedicated professional development/training budget About Us Worldwiders Global Recruitment is a B2B recruitment agency specialized in executive and specialist recruitment across the globe.
