Pay Information $2,236 per week About The Position Job Title: Travel RN - Labor and Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Labor and delivery experience of at least 2 years. Experience circulating C-sections. Description: This position is for a travel Registered Nurse in the Labor and Delivery specialty. The unit has 26 beds and a staff of 112. On the day shift, there is one clinical nurse coordinator, 14 nurses, 2-3 surgical technologists, and 2 unit clerks. On the night shift, there is one clinical nurse coordinator, 12 nurses, 2 surgical technologists, and 1 unit clerk. Patient ratios are 1:1 for high-risk labor and cesarean sections, 1:2 for antepartum, PPROM, preterm labor on magnesium, and postpartum on magnesium, and 1:3 for postpartum without a baby and outpatients. The unit utilizes equipment such as Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, Monica Novii telemetry, and CPN monitors. The electronic medical record systems used are CPN gold and Meditech. Candidates will be prioritized based on experience in labor and delivery, especially those with more than 2 years of high-risk labor and delivery experience. Typical procedures performed include cesarean sections, inductions, artificial rupture of membranes, intrauterine pressure catheter insertion, fetal monitor interpretation, and Doppler assessments. The ideal candidate will be hardworking and flexible. The unit practices self-scheduling, which contributes to high staff satisfaction. The nursing team collaborates well to meet the needs of the unit and support each other. A strong leadership team is present to support nurses when needed, with many staff members having 20-40 years of experience.
