Job Description Job Description TITLE: Assistant Daycare Director PERFORMANCE PROFILE SOURCE: None DEPARTMENT: N/A REPORTS TO: Daycare Director STATUS: ❒ Exempt ❒ Non-Exempt __________________________________________________________________________________________ PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Assistant Daycare Director will work part of the management team in the development and promotion of the work of the Daycare Center. . KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities): 1. Assists Daycare Director with preparing comprehensive annual program budget for the approval of the Branch Director/Area Director 2. Assists with development appropriate daycare related policies. 3. Assists with the design and set up of daycare areas. 4. Assist with the purchasing of age-appropriate equipment needed by the program. 5. Assists with preparing the necessary bus schedule for school pick ups and drop offs and activities with the Daycare Director 6. Creates and maintains children and program files to include registration forms, permission forms, staff time sheets, complete staff files, program and snack schedules. 7. Recommends to and enforces policies set by state licensing agency. 8. Assist with other duties as requested by the Daycare Director. 9. Assist in summer camp planning, hiring and implementation of programming. 10. Lead daycare program should the daycare director be out on leave. 11. Drive Club buses 12. Able to pass all background checks required by the Department of Education QUALIFICATIONS: Assistant Daycare Director shall be at least 18 years of age, have fulfilled a high school program completion or the equivalent, and meet one of the following: Have an endorsement or bachelor's degree in a child-related field such as, but not limited to, elementary education, nursing, or recreation, from a college or university. Have three months of programmatic experience and at least one of the following education backgrounds: A one-year early childhood certificate from a college or university that consists of at least 30 semester hours. A child development credential by an organization listed in § 22.1-289.048 of the Code of Virginia. A teaching diploma from an internationally or nationally recognized Montessori organization; or Have six months of supervised programmatic experience. Excellent organizational, communication, interviewing, and listening skills. Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics. CPR and First Aid Certifications preferred. Ability to deal effectively with diverse group of parents and children.
