Direct Support Professional (DSP) work in residential setting assisting individuals with disabilities on daily living skills: cook, do laundry, feed, help with personal care chores, light cleaning, take people to appointments, DSP assist in direct and indirect activities. Each group home has a manager and assistant manager and groups of Direct Support Professionals who all work as a team! We are looking for people who enjoy working with people with developmental disabilities and who are interested in teaching and leading by example a positive lifestyle. This is a great start to a career, it provides a lot of experience if you want to be a nurse, special education teacher, social worker, psychologist or any related field. Responsibilities Direct Support Professionals provides hands on assistance for consumers, willing to help with personal care as needed Provide direct service to our consumers including support for: activities of daily living, program activities, and other assigned duties as required DSP Must treat clients with respect, kindness, and patience DSP Work with a team to ensure safety of residents at all times Interact with consumers in a professional and positive manner Encourages self-help activities Perform other duties as assigned Company Description ArcMorris is a nonprofit organization with over 70 years of experience serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
