Work location: Avenida Álvaro Obregón 171, Roma Norte, 06700 Cuauhtémoc, CDMX, Mexico Work schedule: in office/hybrid *all work and interviews will be conducted in English! Position Overview Tech Stack: Node.js / TypeScript (backend), React (frontend), MySQL (database), and Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub); CI/CD via GitLab pipelines. AI/LLM Expertise: Proven experience integrating large language models (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and AI-coding tools (e.g., Windsurf or Cursor) into production to build AI-driven features and improve developer workflows. Agile Environment: Join a single, cross-functional Scrum team working on a weekly cadence. Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and continuous delivery. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and own RESTful APIs and microservices in Node.js/TypeScript with high availability, observability, and performance. Collaborate with front-end engineers to define API contracts and build React components that consume back-end services. Embed AI-powered tooling (e.g., prompt engineering, automated test generation) to boost team productivity and code quality. Define and optimize MySQL schemas/queries, handle migrations, and enforce data integrity. Work with DevOps on GitLab CI/CD pipelines and manage Google Cloud infrastructure. Qualifications: 7 years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in backend-focused full-stack roles. Demonstrated ability to deploy and operate production services on Google Cloud. Hands-on with LLM integrations—prompt design, fine-tuning, and API orchestration—and experience leveraging AI-assisted coding tools. Full professional proficiency in English (verbal and written) to collaborate with distributed teams. Strong ownership mindset: able to drive end-to-end solutions, mentor peers, and enforce best practices in code reviews and testing.
