Recreation Specialist (Rotational)

Enhance off-duty time for military personnel by providing a comprehensive leisure time program of social, cultural, recreational, athletic and fitness activities. The position is Rotational support for CLDJ for a min of 6 months a year. Could be located/based in multiple EURAFCENT primary locations (negotiable based on need) Rota, Sigonella, Naples, Bahrain and Souda Bay and TDY to other commands within the EURAFCENT Region on an "as-needed basis" to provide recreation and management support. Duties Requirements In accordance with AFRICOM Force Health Protection Requirements and Medical Guidance for Entry into the U.S Africa Command Theater, ACI 4200.09, incumbent is required to pass a preplacement medical / dental examination and receive immunizations. Tour length will be based on the location incumbent is attached to. It could range from 12 months to 36 months contract. Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret background check. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport. Qualifications A minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NF-03/GS-07/08 grade level. Specialized experience includes planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, or evaluating community, outdoor, institutional, or other recreational programs. Knowledge of the basic principles and techniques of recreation programming which serves as a foundation for training in the practical application of such knowledge to ongoing recreation programs. Knowledge gained through relevant experience which enables the employee to competently and independently carry out continuing recreation projects or programs through proper application of the principles, concepts, and techniques of recreation to the specific needs of community to be served. Skill in the effective management and utilization of the financial, physical and human resources of the recreation program. Skill in modifying and/or developing appropriate methods, approaches, and procedures for the most effective management of recreation programs. Strong verbal and written skills. J-18808-Ljbffr
