Junior Sous Chef

Job description Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality and culinary arts, with experience in a restaurant environment. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Head Chef with food production, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. Responsibilities Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and cooking activities. Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen. Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to menu specifications. Help manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste. Collaborate with team members to create new menu items and improve existing recipes. Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained and operated safely. Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen procedures. Experience Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality or restaurant industry. Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines. Experience in team management, with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse group of individuals. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen environment. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
