Always Friday
Founding Software Engineer - Italian native speaker only
Job Location
Umbria, Italy
Job Description
We are currently an early-stage startup but we aim to become the all-in-one platform for corporate events like retreats and team building, similar to what Booking is for private users. Unlike private users, companies have distinct needs, and until now, nobody has created a software program that fully addresses these needs. Here comes Always Friday : we have the expertise and determination to develop a marketplace that automates and digitalises the entire event-planning, from location scouting to seamless invoice management. Our platform will leverage a proprietary dataset, in partnership with world-class hotel chains, rather than relying on scraping data from other websites like existing alternatives am‑building providers, and budgets in siloed tools and endless email chains. Join as tech employee1 and shape both our product and culture from day one. We’re looking for a dedicated, pragmatic and proactive software engineer with 2-4 years of experience in building scalable and reliable software. You have an entrepreneurial mindset and a hands-on attitude : when something breaks, you fix it; when something’s unclear, you figure it out. You value speed, iteration, and learning directly from users. If you believe in building fast and improving based on real feedback, you’ll feel right at home here. Tasks Design, build, test, ship, and iterate across the stack (Next.js / TypeScript / PostgreSQL on AWS). Collaborate with Lorenzo (Co‑founder & CTO) on architecture, tooling, and the product roadmap. Help us hire, onboard, and mentor the next generation of engineers as we 3× headcount over the next 12 months. Join product calls and push same‑day improvements. Champion code quality, testing, observability, and DevOps best practices. Requirements 2-4 years of experience in building scalable and reliable software (startup experience a plus). Proficient with TypeScript, Next.js / React, PostgreSQL, and related technologies. Comfortable jumping between front‑end polish and back‑end performance. Pragmatic, biased to action, and energized by ambiguity. Additional Skills Python Docker / K8s GitHub Actions Sentry or similar monitoring tools Playwright Competitive salary : €37,000-€42,000, depending on experience. Stock options with high growth potential. Flexible work arrangements, with a preference for Milan-based work, but open to remote for exceptional candidates. Opportunity to build and scale a well-funded startup from the ground up. Impactful work that affects real people and shapes the company's future. Next Steps 2. 90‑minute pair programming session with Lorenzo on a mini feature. 3. Casual video call with future teammates. 4. Written offer with transparent equity and compensation breakdown. We respect your time : all steps are scheduled upfront, feedback is provided within 24 hours, and we can move faster if needed. J-18808-Ljbffr J-18808-Ljbffr
