About the Role As a DevOps Engineer focused on Google Cloud Platform, you will play a key role in infrastructure automation and reliability. Responsibilities Cloud Infrastructure (GCP): Design, provision, and maintain highly-available infrastructure on Google Cloud (GKE, Cloud SQL/Spanner, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, VPC, Load Balancing). Infrastructure as Code: Implement and version everything (networking, compute, IAM, secrets) with Terraform (or Pulumi), following GitOps best practices. CI/CD & Release Engineering: Build and own deployment pipelines (GitHub Actions / Cloud Build) for micro-services (NestJS, Node, Python) and front-end workloads. Observability & SRE: Set up end-to-end monitoring, logging, and alerting (Cloud Operations / Prometheus / Grafana). Define SLOs, error budgets, and conduct post-mortems. Security & Compliance: Enforce least-privilege IAM, secret-management (Secret Manager / HashiCorp Vault), container scanning, and automated policy checks (OPA). Cost & Performance Optimization: Track usage, right-size workloads, and design auto-scaling strategies to keep latency low and margins healthy. Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with backend, data, and ML teams; coach engineers on cloud-native patterns and DevOps culture. Qualifications Portfolio / Case Studies: Show us infrastructure or CI/CD projects you architected or improved. On-site Presence: This role is primarily on-site in Pisa. Hybrid / full-remote considered only for 10 years senior profiles with a strong track record. Passion & Proactivity: We’re an ambitious startup; we value initiative, ownership, and a growth mindset. Required Skills Google Cloud Platform: Hands-on with Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL/Spanner, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, VPC, IAM. Kubernetes & Containers: Deep understanding of container orchestration, Helm/Kustomize, rolling & canary deployments. Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency with Terraform (preferred) or Pulumi; strong Git workflows and code-review discipline. CI/CD: Experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Cloud Build—automating build, test, security-scan, and deploy stages. Observability: Prometheus/Grafana, Cloud Monitoring, OpenTelemetry; ability to create actionable alerts and dashboards. Scripting & Automation: Bash, Python, or Go for glue tasks, tooling, and incident response automation. Collaboration & Communication: Comfortable translating infra concepts to product, marketing, and customer-care teams. Experience with RabbitMQ or other message brokers. GitOps tooling (Argo CD / Flux). Managing ML pipelines or GPU workloads on GCP. Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer certification.
