Job Description
Join to apply for the Purchasing Manager role at Rosewood Rome . Rosewood Rome is seeking a Purchasing Manager. During the hotel preopening phase, procurement plays a crucial role in ensuring a successful launch. The main responsibilities include purchasing goods and services for the entire hotel in a timely and accurate manner, which impacts the smooth opening and ongoing operations. Key Responsibilities Ensure all supplies and goods are supplied on time. Maintain stock levels according to established Min/Max parameters. Analyze consumption patterns and review Min/Max levels annually. Maintain vendor information, including supplier channels, product availability, pricing, purchase history, and consumption rates. Negotiate and establish annual contracts for bulk Food, Beverage, and General Supplies. Ensure high-volume and high-cost purchases undergo a competitive bidding process with at least 3 bidders. Analyze hotel engineering operations to identify at least 3 suppliers for engineering spare parts. Conduct monthly meetings with management to discuss open orders, procurement of capital expenditure items, and vendor changes, and prepare minutes. Conduct market surveys to stay informed about local market conditions for hotel products, involving Purchasing staff, Cost Controller, and Chef periodically. Compare market price lists from multiple vendors and update price comparison sheets for review by relevant departments. Procure the best quality at the best price. Communicate with user departments about delays or unavailability of goods. Provide feedback to user departments on existing and new products. Ensure quality of services and products from suppliers and maintain good relationships. Respect and cooperate with suppliers and vendors at all times. Gather purchasing suggestions from user departments. Collaborate with sister hotels on procurement matters. Training Conduct staff training based on departmental needs, performance, and job ethics. Other standard responsibilities Comply with company policies. Work within budgetary limits. Perform additional tasks reasonably assigned. Develop and update policies and manuals related to the department, ensuring compliance. Required Skills Neat appearance and articulate communication skills. Ability to build teams, motivate, and be a self-starter. Initiative and commitment to professional values. Proficiency in spoken and written English and excellent Italian language skills. Qualifications University degree. Additional training in Finance is preferred. Experience in Materials Control is preferred. Experience Strong planning skills.
