Sous Chef – Nursing Home Location: Ashton-under-Lyne Hourly Rate: £13.40 per hour Shifts: 7am-6pm Hours: 36 hours per week Our client, a well-established nursing home in Ashton-under-Lyne, is currently seeking an experienced care home chef to join their kitchen team as a sous chef. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a care-focused environment and is committed to delivering high-quality, nutritious meals for elderly residents. You will never work alone; you’ll always have a kitchen assistant working along-side with you. Key Responsibilities: * Prepare and serve meals in accordance with our client's menus, tailored to meet residents' individual dietary needs. * Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety in line with regulatory requirements (CQC, Environmental Health). * Collaborate with care staff and Chefs to ensure a positive dining experience for residents. * Ensure kitchen cleanliness and effective stock rotation. * Assist with menu planning and food ordering as required. Requirements: * Previous experience working as a Cook/Chef in a care home or nursing home setting is essential. * Understanding of varied dietary requirements, allergens, and texture-modified diets. * Ability to work with the Chefs as part of a team. * A compassionate approach and commitment to enhancing the lives of older people.
