Job Description

The Manager Business Development and Control plays a crucial role in enhancing the growth, profitability, and operational effectiveness of Broadview Materials Europe. This position contributes hands-on to commercial and operational improvement potential, offering ample opportunities to make an impact. The Manager Business Development and Control is also responsible for conducting analyses, generating insights, and making recommendations based on financial data and other information. The role is based at the headquarters in Schiphol and involves leading a compact, analytically strong team: 3 Business Analysts, 1 Data Analyst, and 1 Trainee. The position requires an international orientation, with regular visits to production or sales locations as part of the job duties. We are seeking an energetic, entrepreneurial professional with a strong analytical background and strategic insight. Someone with leadership experience in Finance and demonstrable experience in driving commercial improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate identifies opportunities, takes initiative, and motivates others to act. You have a clear drive to make an impact, think ahead, possess sharp analytical skills, and strong communication abilities. Tasks and responsibilities Identifying market developments, customer needs, and competitive dynamics, translating them into growth opportunities. Developing strategic plans and business cases focused on commercial and operational growth. Initiating and guiding improvement and optimization projects across the supply chain, production efficiency, and cost levels. Driving growth within new product categories and increasing market share. Exploring new markets, customer segments, and product possibilities. Monitoring sales pipelines, customer interaction, and conversion rates. Collaborating with marketing and product development to market new propositions, serving as a strategic partner to the management in decision-making. Analyzing the performance of international production and sales locations (>15 countries) and translating findings into insightful management information. Developing and managing dashboards and KPI structures. Coordinating forecasting and budgeting processes, including timely and reliable reporting to management. Identifying deviations and actively steering towards financial optimization. Leading and developing the team of business analysts, data analysts, and trainees. Candidate Profile Master’s degree in Business Economics, Finance, or similar field. 5 years of leadership experience in finance, preferably in an international and commercial environment. Demonstrable experience in Business Development, Finance and performance management. Experience in a production or supply chain-driven environment is advantageous. Strong ability to interpret figures and translate them into actionable insights. Experience in developing and substantiating business cases and growth plans. Strong business and financial acumen, with a sense of commercial and operational drivers. Experience leading cross-functional projects and initiatives. Willingness to travel approximately once per month to European production sites or sales offices.
