Job Description

A forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Taunton is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher for a full-time, permanent role from September 2025. As a Food Technology Teacher, you will join a dynamic team with a commitment to developing both academic and life skills. As a Food Technology Teacher, your role will include: * Delivering creative and engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4 (GCSE Food Prep & Nutrition) * Teaching practical cookery skills alongside food science and nutrition theory * Promoting healthy eating and sustainability through classroom activities * Organising enrichment opportunities such as cookery clubs and competitions * Contributing to curriculum design and resource development * Ensuring high standards of hygiene, health, and safety in lessons * Supporting students of all abilities with differentiated instruction The ideal Food Technology Teacher will: * Hold QTS or PGCE in DT with a focus on Food Technology * Have up-to-date knowledge of nutritional guidance and food legislation * Be creative, organised, and confident in delivering practical and theoretical lessons * Be a team player who can contribute to the wider DT faculty This is an ideal opportunity for a Food Technology Teacher to inspire students with a love for food, wellbeing, and lifelong skills
