Job Title: Electrical Fitter Location: Swindon The Role Are you a skilled Electrical Fitter with a passion for precision and safety? Join our team at the Equipment Support Facility in Swindon, where you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our electrical equipment. Reporting directly to the Spares and Repair Manager, you'll be responsible for conducting detailed electrical inspections, producing comprehensive survey reports, and maintaining Portable Electrical Distribution equipment to the highest standards. Your commitment to adhering to Company Health & Safety Policies and Procedures will be essential, as well as staying updated with industry standards and best practices. Responsibilities * Conduct Electrical Inspections: Perform thorough inspections of equipment returning from loan and produce detailed survey reports. * Equipment Maintenance: Identify necessary time and spares to restore Portable Electrical Distribution equipment to a satisfactory standard for safe reuse in the field. * Routine Testing and Maintenance: Execute routine electrical testing, corrective maintenance, diagnostic fault finding, and equipment modifications. * Training and Mentorship: Provide training and mentoring to apprentices, helping them develop their skills and knowledge. * Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and safety. * Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Health and Safety regulations, COSHH, Engineering Hygiene, Risk Assessments, and safe working practices in a hazardous environment. * Additional Tasks: Undertake any other reasonable tasks aligned with your knowledge, experience, and position to support team goals. What We Need * Experience in Electrical Testing: Proven experience in testing and fault finding on various electrical distribution equipment. * Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to anticipate, diagnose, and repair faults with a proactive approach. * Understanding of SLAs and KPIs: Familiarity with Service Level Agreements, service targets, objectives, and Key Performance Indicators. * Health and Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices. * Customer Focus: Strong customer care focus with excellent communication skills. * Technical Proficiency: Competent computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, MS Teams), and the ability to learn new software systems. * Attention to Detail: Capable of completing essential paperwork accurately and promptly. * Security Clearance: Must hold or be able to gain SC clearance. Technical Skills/Knowledge: * Certification: Hold a nationally recognised certificated qualification and demonstrate knowledge and experience in electrical testing and maintenance.
