Job Description Job Description We’re hiring Assistant Residential Managers for our Adult and Children's Residential Programs on Long Island. We’re looking for compassionate, dependable leaders to join our team as Assistant Residential Managers (ARM) in both our Adult and Children’s Residential Programs . As an ARM, you'll provide direct care while also supporting staff and assisting in daily operations. You'll help ensure the individuals we support live happy, healthy, and meaningful lives in a safe and nurturing environment. · Locations: Nassau & Suffolk County, NY · Programs: Adult & Children’s Residential · Pay Rate: $24.00–$26.40/hour · Schedule: Full-time flexibility required based on program needs · Driver’s License Required (Valid NYS License held for at least 18 months) Key Responsibilities: · Assist with daily program operations, including staffing, scheduling, and oversight of direct support staff · Provide direct support to residents, including hygiene assistance, behavioral support, and recreational engagement · Ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive living environment · Help train, mentor, and motivate staff in alignment with DDI’s mission and values · Maintain detailed documentation and communication regarding resident needs and progress · Respond to emergencies, behavioral episodes, or unexpected changes in the schedule as needed What we’re looking for: · A natural leader who leads by example, supports your team, and thrives in a fast-paced environment · Flexible, reliable, and ready to jump in where needed · Passionate about helping individuals with developmental disabilities live empowered, full lives · Able to balance administrative responsibilities with hands-on caregiving Qualifications: · High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred · At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities · Experience in a supervisory or lead role a plus · Must have a valid NYS driver’s license (held for at least 18 months and in good standing) · Must be able to lift 25–30 pounds and respond quickly in active situations · Willingness to assist with hygiene care (training provided) · Ability to work flexible hours based on the needs of the residence · Must pass background check, reference check, and drug screening What We Offer: · Paid two-week training (virtual and in-person) · Opportunities for advancement and professional development · Supportive leadership and a mission-driven culture · Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, PTO, 403(b), and more) Company Description For more than 60 years, Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI) has provided compassionate personal care to meet the emotional, educational, therapeutic, and vocational needs of children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities.
