Provides support for concerts, sporting events, outdoor functions and related University special events. Duties may include working at an assigned station in a concession stand; preparing and dispensing refreshments; transporting, maintaining and arranging supplies, equipment and materials; operating a cash drawer; assisting with parking enforcement; acting as an event usher; and similar event related responsibilities. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period. Unit Position SummaryThe bartender/concession event worker is responsible for the service of alcoholic beverages as well as the sale of other concession offerings, depending on specific event needs. They must be professional, have excellent customer service skills, and able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and some holidays. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled. Desired Qualifications * Good organizational skills. * Ability to work large or small events, either by themselves or in a team environment. * Have knowledge of various beer and wine selection, or the ability to learn such knowledge. * Superb customer service knowledge and skills. * Formal bartending experience preferred, but not necessary. * Must have TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol certificate. Wharton Center will provide training for those that are not already cerified.
