Civil Engineer – Highway & Drainage Design

Company Details: A leading consultancy is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join its growing team in Exeter. Responsibilities: * Design and deliver highways and drainage infrastructure for a range of developments including residential estates, retail parks, and industrial schemes. * Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications in compliance with local planning and regulatory requirements. * Liaise with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth project progression. * Apply knowledge of local conditions and planning regulations to inform and optimise designs. * Contribute to the development of sustainable, practical, and cost-effective civil engineering solutions. Requirements: * Minimum of two years’ UK-based experience in highway and drainage design. * Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. * Strong understanding of UK design standards, local authority requirements, and development processes. * Experience working on projects for house builders, developers, or public-sector organisations. * Proficiency in relevant design software and report preparation. * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. * Ideally possesses local knowledge of the Exeter/South West region.
