TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Rapid City, South Dakota, 57701! Pay Information $2,409 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years Labor and Delivery experience License: Required: BLS, NRP Certifications: Preferred: ACLS, certification in inpatient obstetrics, electronic fetal monitoring, or inpatient antepartum Must-Have: - Experience caring for couplets - IV starts, cervical checks, phlebotomy, magnesium sulfate administration, blood administration, insulin management, circulating during C-sections, and C-section recovery care Description: The unit has 10 labor and delivery beds, 4 obstetric emergency department triage beds, and 4 antepartum rooms. The facility sees all types of pregnant patients in labor and delivery. The unit accepts patients with various risk factors or complications due to having a Level 3 NICU. Patient care ranges from high-risk to low-intervention laboring patients. The unit includes antepartum, OB triage/ED, postpartum, and infant care. Patient ratios are as follows: Antepartum: 1 nurse to 3 patients Inactive Labor: 1 nurse to 2 patients Active Labor: 1 nurse to 1 patient Postpartum/Couplet care: 1 nurse to 3 couplets Support on the unit includes a unit secretary, scrub tech supporting RNs, charge nurse, physician team, anesthesia/CRNA, and a VAT team available as needed. The charting system used is EPIC. Nurses will be required to work postpartum/couplet care throughout the contract. Orientation includes 4 days with a preceptor: 3 days in labor and delivery and 1 day in postpartum. Shifts will be scheduled for 12 hours, ranging from 0630 to 1830, with variable shifts required at night and during the day. Weekend rotations will occur every other weekend. Holidays will be worked as needed, with time off subject to manager approval.
