Job Description Due to continued growth, the company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Wolverhampton office. The role is predominantly office-based, working within an experienced team to develop and deliver mechanical designs that ensure safe, compliant on-site installations. What you would do: Designing in alignment with fire strategy reports, local building regulations, and planning authority requirements Attending design team meetings Conducting site surveys of existing installations when required Performing heating/cooling (thermal modelling) and ventilation load calculations using industry-standard software Sizing and selecting AHUs, FCUs, extract fans, pumps, chillers, ASHP, boilers, plate heat exchangers, etc. Producing above-ground drainage calculations and sizing drainage systems Sizing and selecting domestic hot and cold-water equipment such as heaters and storage tanks Producing pipe and duct sizing calculations using software or spreadsheets Sizing and selecting firefighting sprinkler and pumping systems (preferred but not essential) Preparing stage reports and presentations Completing Designers Risk Assessment and Mitigation Reports Detailing mechanical layouts and schematics for construction Meeting project delivery deadlines Producing detailed design and survey reports Qualifications: Extensive experience in mechanical engineering for building services in construction Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent Good knowledge of CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS & EN standards (Irish and UK) or ASHRAE Working knowledge of design tools such as Hevacomp, Carrier HAP, CyMap, IES/TAS Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment Strong communication skills
