Job Description Job Description Job Title: Quality Control Chemist II Pay Rate: $30.00/hour Shift: 1st Shift Location: Clearwater, FL Position Summary: The Quality Control Chemist II is responsible for performing routine and complex analytical testing of raw materials, finished products, and stability samples to ensure compliance with cGMP requirements and company standards. The role supports laboratory operations, process improvement initiatives, and contributes to maintaining a compliant and efficient Quality Control (QC) environment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct identification testing such as TLC, FT-IR, and composition analysis in accordance with USP monographs and general chapters. Perform wet chemistry testing , including loss on drying, Karl Fischer titrations, pH testing, volumetric titrations, and solution preparation. Execute strength/potency testing using advanced instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, and ICP . Assist with routine laboratory maintenance , including glassware cleaning, solvent waste management, and calibration of balances. Provide support to senior QC Chemists and assist in process and continuous improvement projects. Maintain proper documentation and ensure adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) . Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Control Lab Supervisor or Management. Willingness to work holidays and weekends as needed. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry , Biology , or a related scientific field. Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in a cGMP laboratory environment . Skills and Competencies: Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting general laboratory instrumentation. Strong ability to analyze, interpret, and report data in compliance with USP and internal specifications. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple sample types and priorities. High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity. Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 210, 211, and 111 is preferred. Competency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English . Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. Certifications & Training: Must meet all department training requirements on cGMP and SOP compliance.
