Pay Information $2,053 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night and Day Rotating Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in high acuity patient care; oncology experience preferred but not required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale Must-Have: High acuity PCU patient experience Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit with high acuity needs. The role involves providing care for patients with solid tumors, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology. The unit has a focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention. Nurses will be responsible for monitoring and managing a variety of medical devices including telemetry systems, pumps, and bladder scanners. Previous travel nurse experience is preferred but not mandatory. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage rapid response teams. Experience with feeding tube care, blood product administration, and central line management is important. Candidates will also be required to perform IV starts and manage heparin protocols. Training will include a first week of orientation followed by 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor. Flexibility in scheduling is essential as there are no set schedules or guaranteed days off. Weekend shifts may be required as determined by staffing needs. All candidates must complete fingerprinting as part of the credentialing process. Professional growth and development opportunities are available.
