As an integral part of our Finance team, you will report directly to the Accounts Manager and provide essential accounting and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our financial processes. The post holder will assist with a variety of duties to include general accounts functions, sales and purchase ledgers. The role will require strong self-management and the ability to manage your time efficiently. Purchase Ledger, to include: Posting of purchase ledger transactions to supplier accounts. Liaising with branches and suppliers to resolve purchase ledger queries. Purchase ledger maintenance. Preparation of month end supplier payment file. Reconciliation of supplier accounts and assist with purchase ledger month end processes. Sales Ledger, to include: New account opening and ongoing customer account maintenance. Assisting with credit control. Supporting the team with posting and allocating daily payments on customer accounts as and when required. Assisting with month end procedures, including statement run. Offering support to customers with any queries. General Accounts duties, to include: Daily reporting of financial figures to the senior management team. Daily cash reconciliation to cash registers. Reconciliation of petty cash, credit card payments and lodgements. Posting daily journals to maintain the system. Assisting as required with month end reconciliations. Preparation of the VAT return quarterly. Supporting the finance team with annual audit procedures. Other Ordering of stationery supplies. Any other finance-related tasks as required. The ideal candidate will: Have experience in a finance environment, and a good understanding of accounts processes. Be proficient in Excel and other Microsoft programs such as Outlook and Word. Have excellent written and oral communication skills. Be able to demonstrate initiative whilst working in a team environment. Have strong personal organisational skills including multi-tasking and prioritisation. Be self-motived, resilient and goal oriented able to take responsibility and ownership. Be analytical and inquisitive ability to identify problems, propose remedies and implement solutions. Have great attention to detail accurate delivery without loss of clarity, timeliness or sight of the bigger picture. Industry-specific software is used by the company, and full training will be given.
