Job Description
As Communications Manager for Belmond, contribute to the success of our communication strategies through the implementation of activities, the execution of defined plans, and the measurement of effective messaging. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS : Develop property-brand awareness and desirability through storytelling and initiatives resulting in press coverage and social media visibility. Execute and support an ambitious and cohesive communication plan with key activities and KPIs - targeting existing and new audiences - that will strengthen the property’s positioning. The Communications Manager is responsible for implementing all communications activities for their property, supporting and executing the strategy defined by the Divisional Communications Director in collaboration with the Divisional Brand and Marketing Director, measuring effective messaging and communications strategies and their relevance for the property’s awareness. The role works closely with the Divisional Communications and Marketing teams, as well as with Belmond’s Global Communications team in London to ensure alignment on brand positioning and narrative. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : PLANNING, EXECUTION & COORDINATION Work closely with the Divisional Communications team to develop and execute property communication plans that support global & divisional business goals. Be a team player with strong interpersonal skills, serving as the key point of contact for internal stakeholders and facilitating communications across teams to maximize visibility for all property and divisional activities. MEDIA & KOLs RELATIONS & EVENTS Manage media and KOL relations, proactively researching new contacts to increase the media and KOLs database. Proactively pitch journalists for editorials and press visits to achieve property press targets and increase brand awareness. Organize media trips and coordinate single visits. Develop press materials (press releases, news updates, etc.), respond to media and agency inquiries, and keep internal media platforms updated. Organize and support the creation and production of property events, developing relationships with new partners and curating attendee lists based on set targets. SUPPORT SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT CREATION STRATEGY Work closely with Divisional Social Media Managers to ensure alignment across all platforms/channels and communicate new stories/campaigns effectively. Support the growth of the brand advocate community by researching and developing relationships with content creators and photographers. Assist the Marketing team with photoshoots and the implementation of marketing projects. LINE MANAGEMENT Manage and coach the Communications Executive, providing training and supporting career development where applicable. REPORTING & ANALYSIS Regularly analyze and report on media coverage, events, and initiatives; share successes with internal stakeholders. OTHER Maintain knowledge of cultural trends and competitor activities to inform departmental strategies. Demonstrate Belmond’s core behaviors as a role model. Requirements ROLE REQUIREMENTS : 5 years of public relations/communications experience, preferably in the Hospitality Industry. Highly organized and methodical, capable of managing multiple projects under pressure, even during peak seasons. Understanding and sensitivity to the luxury hospitality markets. Ability to foster collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders and disciplines. Creative storyteller with a track record of media results. Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills. A passion for excellence, high energy, and enthusiasm. Fluent in English and Italian. Willingness to travel.
