Job Description
The role aims to be recognized as a trusted advisor to finance team members and other hotel business partners. This role supports the finance lead to retain and train best-in-class finance professionals and assists in developing their finance team. This role ensures a robust control and compliance environment and supports the hotel / hotels to maximize profit and contributes to implement EMEA Operations Finance innovations and projects. What will I be doing? The Chief Accountant will support all activities performed by the hotels' Assistant / Finance lead, including understanding financial performance, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, month-end closing activities, and reviewing financial statements in accordance with GAAP, the Uniform System of Accounts, and Hilton policies. The role will ensure smooth hotel finance operations in full compliance with policies, regulations, and contractual frameworks. It will business partner with hotel finance teams and hotel management, supporting the development of strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders, including Commercial, IT, Procurement, Operations, and Shared Service Centers. In the absence of the Assistant Finance Manager / Director, the Chief Accountant will assume responsibilities. The role will participate in relevant finance training and development programs. What are we looking for? JOB ROLES : Manage some AP transactions and cash management activities. Supervise and maintain the books of the hotel(s) daily. Ensure all transactions are accurate, complete, properly recorded, and timely. Reconcile balance sheet transactions and ensure documentation. Be fully conversant with Hilton's chart of accounts and proper usage. Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and Hilton policies. Complete month-end closing and prepare financial reports for review. Assist in forecasts and monthly financial reports. Understand duties of other finance team members and supervise accordingly. Assist with internal and external audits. Ensure legal and tax compliance. Participate actively in daily departmental activities and support team members. Provide financial information for decision-making. Contribute to team development and training. Coordinate leave and coverage within the department. Create a positive working environment and ensure efficient practices. Adhere to internal control procedures and report weaknesses. Maintain organized filing systems. Handle requests and inquiries efficiently and courteously. Review invoices and posting documents for proper coding. Lead month-end processes for stocks, creditors, pre-payments, and accruals; ensure reconciliation. Maintain accurate balance sheet reflection of assets and liabilities. Manage Fixed Cost Register and contractual records. Review and code corporate charges and Hilton fees. Post journal vouchers and prepare vendor tax documentation. Ensure timely payments and accurate payroll accruals. Support month-end processes and audits. Prepare bank journal entries and maintain documentation. Submit fiscal statistics as required by law. Ensure timely invoicing and reconciliation of city ledger batches. Record advanced payments properly. Reconcile aging reports with the general ledger. Perform additional tasks to support hotel operations. Good knowledge of Italian is required. by helplavoro.it J-18808-Ljbffr
