Job Description
Shift: 12:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday to Friday Description Performs routine and special procedure imaging. Prepares patients for imaging procedures. Assists radiologists when necessary. Operates, maintains, and cares for imaging equipment. Follows established standards of care. Participates in ongoing education. Takes responsibility for assigned duties and areas. Adheres to customer service guidelines. Performs quality assurance and other assigned tasks. Applies professional judgment in procedures. Provides patient care. Follows performance standards, policies, and behaviors. Positions patients accurately for specific examinations and ensures complete documentation. Produces high-quality technical images and verifies scan completeness. Assists physicians during procedures as needed. Performs calibrations and routine quality assurance checks. Available for emergency or urgent procedures. Maintains cleanliness of all work areas, equipment, and accessories. Reports equipment malfunctions. Prints patient CDs when needed. Performs administrative duties, including phone answering, patient check-in, and retrieving prior reports or films. Informs front desk after exam completion. Presents images to radiologists and communicates findings to attending physicians when necessary. May serve as a preceptor or instructor. Introduces self to patients and educates them or their family about the examination. Provides age-appropriate care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Attends staff meetings and in-service sessions. May rotate to other outpatient locations. Duties and hours may vary based on practice needs. May be required to work holidays, overtime, or other shifts to maintain coverage. Performs other related duties as assigned. Position may qualify for certification incentive. Requirements Graduation from an accredited radiography school or hospital-based program Certification by ARRT, ARMRIT, or ARRT MR (to be completed within one year of hire) 24 continuing education credits required every two years (based on year of birth) BLS certification through the American Heart Association (required within 90 days of hire) IV certification preferred or to be completed within six months Annual MRI Safety Certification Level 2 required
