These positions are located in the Park Facilities Management Division of Lassen Volcanic National Park.

These positions are located in the Park Facilities Management Division of Lassen Volcanic National Park. Area Information: Lassen Volcanic National Park is in a region where the Cascade Range, Sierra Nevada Range, and Great Basin ecosystems converge. The vegetation is montane to subalpine, ranging from yellow pine and mixed conifer woodlands through red fir forests to windswept tree line stands of mountain hemlock and white bark pine. Recently burned habitat of varying severity is present across nearly 70% of the park, which was impacted by the 2021 Dixie Fire. Lakes, wetlands, shrublands, and meadows provide diversity across the landscape. Elevations range from 5,300 feet in the valleys to 10,453 feet on Lassen Peak. Various types of volcanoes dominate the landscape, as well as active hydrothermal features like steam vents and mud pots. Recreational opportunities abound, with cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, and hiking, camping, backpacking, fly-fishing, and kayaking in the summer. Job Requirements

SELECTIVE FACTOR - If you do not possess the required licenses specified below, you will be rated ineligible. You must possess a minimum California Water Treatment (T-1) Operators certification (or equivalent) with an ability to obtain a T-2 within 1-year of enter-on-duty date. You MUST provide a copy of each license you possess at the time of application. In addition to the above selective factors, to qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (SCREEN OUT) Knowledge of equipment, assembly, installation, repair, etc. Operation of Water Treatment Systems Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprinting reading) Use of Measuring Instruments Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Materials Condition of employment: (1) Obtain and maintain a California (T-2) certification within 12 months of placement into the position. Failure to include this information will result in non-consideration. (2) Ability to lift 50 lbs. If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration.
