The role aims to be recognized as a trusted advisor to finance team members and other hotel business partners. This role supports the finance lead to retain and train best-in-class finance professionals and assists in developing their finance team. It ensures a robust control and compliance environment, supports hotel profit maximization, and contributes to EMEA Operations Finance innovations and projects. Job Description The Chief Accountant supports all activities performed by the hotel's Assistant / Finance lead, including understanding financial performance, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, month-end closing, and reviewing financial statements in accordance with GAAP, Hilton policies, and local regulations. The role involves business partnering with hotel finance teams and management, developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and stepping in for the Assistant Finance Manager/Director when needed. The role also includes participating in finance training and development programs. What will I be doing? Manage AP transactions and cash flow. Supervise daily bookkeeping and ensure transaction accuracy. Reconcile balance sheet accounts timely and properly. Ensure compliance with Hilton standards, local laws, and policies. Complete month-end and year-end closing processes. Assist in forecasting, financial reporting, and audit processes. Support team development and coordinate leave coverage. Maintain proper documentation and filing systems. Review invoices, posting documents, and ensure proper account coding. Lead month-end stock, creditors, pre-payments, and accruals processes. Maintain Fixed Cost Register and review corporate charges. Handle vendor and payroll-related postings and reconciliations. Support internal and external audit preparations. Ensure timely payments and accurate posting of financial transactions. Perform spot checks and ensure data accuracy. Support general hotel finance functions to ensure smooth operations. Good knowledge of Italian is required.
