Job Summary Kalos Services is looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented HVAC/R & Plumbing Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide critical technical support to our Purchasing, Estimating, and Parts teams. The ideal candidate will leverage their deep field expertise to ensure we're accurately estimating, proposing, sourcing, and implementing the best materials and solutions for our projects. Position Details Employment Type: Part-time / Full-time (Flexible) Schedule: 20 - 40 hours per week , based on workload and candidate availability. Overtime: This position is not expected to require overtime. Location: Fully Remote - Any State in the Southeast / Midwest (Similar Climates) Compensation: $30 per hour Responsibilities Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to assist the Estimating team with accurate material takeoffs. Perform spot checks on proposals and estimates to ensure technical accuracy regarding materials, equipment, and scope of work. Provide expert value engineering advice and suggest alternative solutions to optimize project costs and efficiency. Collaborate with the Purchasing team to source correct materials, identify suitable alternates, and track down long-lead-time or specialty items. Act as a technical resource for the Parts team to ensure correct component identification and selection. Work directly with production teams to troubleshoot material-related challenges and develop practical solutions. Gather and organize required technical documentation, such as submittals and cut sheets, for project approval. Requirements: Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the HVAC industry. A combination of field (hands-on) and office experience is highly preferred. Prior experience in estimating, material takeoffs, or purchasing is a significant plus. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications. In-depth knowledge of industry materials, codes, and best practices. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
