Cooling Technical Writer

Overview We are looking for a Technical Writer who will be in charge of creating, updating and publishing technical documentation and manuals shipped with Schneider Electric’s cooling products. The candidate will be part of the R&D Technical Department and report to the Mechanical Engineers & Technical Writers Manager (based in Italy) who coordinates knowledge transfer and provides specific work assignments. Technical Writers shall ensure deliverables meet specific technical standards after obtaining a deep understanding of SE cooling products and their operation. Job Responsibilities As Technical Writer, create and revise Installation, Operation & Maintenance, Technical Specifications and Service manuals related to a specific project, standard or new customized cooling products; manage the complete documentation development process from input collection through document creation to final publication. Gather information from stakeholders (product design leaders, project managers, mechanical/electrical designers, software engineers, compliance engineers, etc.). Write/edit content in technical English, translating complex product information into clear, polished, accurate content. Create explanatory 2D graphics using specific design software. Meet deadlines and ensure timely delivery of manuals. Publish approved versions of manuals, generate related PDFs per internal procedure, and upload them onto designated portals. Support marketing and other departments in creating technical documentation to support product sales. Attend planning and meetings to coordinate with design leaders and production departments. Manage and approve translations according to internal procedure; coordinate with translators, outsourcing agencies and service providers. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor in a technical field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering); Bachelor or Master’s degree in English, Communication (English), Specialized Translation or Professional Writing (English) or Engineering degree with English level of at least B2. Experience with content management systems such as Windchill PLM, PTC Arbortext Editor. Experience with Adobe Illustrator. Knowledge or editing/translation experience in technical fields such as engineering, computer science, or software engineering. Proficiency in written and verbal communication; ability to transform complex technical information into easily understandable content with excellent readability and usability for various audiences. Ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics and software processes. Ability to manage time while coordinating tasks and keeping track of simultaneous projects and files to ensure on-time delivery. Experience with editing or CAT-tools (e.g., XML-based editing software, Trados Studio). Experience with desktop publishing software and content management systems. Experience with creating and managing 3D and/or 2D images. Required Soft Skills Ability to work well in a dynamic but complex environment with many stakeholders.
