Job Description Job Description We are looking for a medical assistant with at least two years of experience, and references. Your primary motivation should be to do what’s best for our patients with responsibility even if that requires going above and beyond what might be standard in other practices. You should be proficient and efficient with entering information patient data into an EHR (Electronic Heath Record) system eCW (eClincalWorks) is preferred. You must be proficient in English language, additional languages would be a plus. You must be a competent phlebotomist able to extract blood samples from veins in the worst condition. Medical Assistant Job Description Software used in the job · EclinicalWorks (eCW) Electronic Health Records (EHR) System · Office Medic (ECG) · LiteDM (CBC results) · Microsoft Windows · Microsoft Office 365 o Outlook o Teams o Word o Excel · Various other websites for medication and insurance clearances, and diagnostic devices. Provide patient care. · Take patients vitals and record them in the EHR system · Record and update the list of medications the patient is taking in the EHR system. · Record patients answers to questions required for specific appointment types in the EHR system. · Take Blood, Sinus swabs, Throat swabs, and other samples for lab testing. · At the doctor’s direction, order lab tests via the EHR system directly or with the assistance of a lab clerk if one is on duty. · At the doctor’s direction, order new or renewals of non-narcotic prescriptions. · Perform ECG tests. · At the doctor’s direction, create referrals for patients via the EHR system. · Use One or similar glucose test strip device on patients, and record results in the EHR system. · Administer medications to patients via oral, injections, nasal sprays, nebulizers, topical, etc. · Administer treatments · Assist the doctor(s) with starting recorded video telehealth visits via Microsoft teams. Additional patient care tasks dependent on staff availability on the day · If a lab clerk is not available, the MA may need to package samples for lab test and schedule the pickup with the lab company. · If a lab clerk is not available, the MA and or the front desk staff may need to scan or upload results from in-house lab and diagnostic testing procedures to the patient’s chart in the EHR system. · If a lab clerk is not available, the MA may need to operate various pieces of lab equipment to conduct in-house tests or send samples to external laboratories. o Sofia 2 (Nasal and throat Swab tests viruses and bacteria) o CBC Machine. o Centrifuge. o Dipstick Urine test. Optional additional responsibilities The following are additional responsibilities that are not required unless the MA volunteers in exchange for additional pay. House calls Outside of in-office duties the MA if they agree to do so at time of hire may also be assigned to do house calls, house calls involve going to the patient’s home, taking vitals and samples for lab tests then setting up a recorded video conference call with the doctor. Certifications Minimum Certifications/Experience Phlebotomist Graduation from an accredited nursing program Additional Certifications we would like to see PN or RN license preferred. Languages MA must be fluent reading, writing and speaking English.
