Freelance Design Manager

Job Title: Freelance Design Manager Location: Hackney, London Project Type: New Build Hotel Contract Duration: 6 Months Start Date: Immediate About the Role: We are seeking a Freelance Design Manager to join a site-based team in Hackney on a high-profile new build hotel project. This 6-month contract requires an individual with proven experience in hotel schemes or complex fit-out projects, capable of managing the design process from early stages through to delivery. Key Responsibilities: * Manage the coordination of design information between consultants, subcontractors, and site teams. * Review drawings, specifications, and design packages to ensure accuracy and buildability. * Chair and document design team meetings, driving progress against programme. * Resolve technical issues and support the project team during construction. * Ensure compliance with building regulations, client requirements, and quality standards. * Report on design progress to the Project Manager and wider team. Requirements: * Previous experience as a Design Manager on hotels or high-spec fit-out projects is essential. * Strong technical knowledge across architecture, MEP, and interiors. * Excellent communication and coordination skills. * Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work to tight deadlines. * Relevant qualifications and professional memberships preferred.
