Nursery chef

Salary: Up to £30,000 per year (depending on experience) Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday About the Role We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Chef to join our team. You will play a key role in preparing and serving healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for children, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. Key Responsibilities * Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals and snacks for children, catering for a range of dietary requirements and allergies. * Ensure all meals are freshly prepared and presented to a high standard. * Maintain excellent standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and organisation in the kitchen. * Work in line with food hygiene, safety, and allergy management procedures. * Manage stock, place food orders, and monitor budgets. * Follow nursery menus and contribute ideas for seasonal or creative meal planning. * Work closely with the nursery team to ensure mealtimes are enjoyable, safe, and inclusive. Requirements * Previous experience as a Chef, Cook, or Kitchen Assistant (nursery, school, or care home experience desirable). * Knowledge of nutrition for children and ability to adapt meals for dietary/allergy requirements. * Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to complete/renew before starting). * Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently. * A genuine passion for providing healthy meals for children.
