Kitchen Assistant

Kitchen Assistant Location: Shepherd's Bush Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 per annum ⏰ Hours: 8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday We’re looking for a friendly, organised and reliable Kitchen Assistant to joina busy nursery team. You’ll play an important role in preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for our children, while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. Key Responsibilities: * Assist with the preparation and cooking of healthy, balanced meals for children aged 0–5 years * Follow set menus and dietary requirements, including allergies and cultural preferences * Keep the kitchen clean, tidy and compliant with food safety regulations * Wash, sanitise and store kitchen equipment and utensils * Support with food deliveries and stock rotation * Work closely with the nursery team to ensure mealtimes run smoothly Requirements: * Nursery or early years kitchen experience (or experience cooking for children under 5) * Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety procedures * Fluent English (essential) * Flexible and positive approach * Good communication and teamwork skills * Willingness to complete a DBS check and provide written references What We Offer: * £13.85/hour (£28,800/year) * Extra holiday for good attendance * Loyalty bonuses for length of service (up to £1,000) * Workplace pension * Paid lunch breaks * Staff parties & social events * Free uniform * Childcare Deposit Loan Scheme * A friendly, welcoming workplace with approachable managers and supportive colleagues If you’re passionate about preparing healthy meals and want to be part of a team that makes a real difference in children’s lives, we’d love to hear from you!
