Pay Information $2,150 per week About The Position Job Title: Progressive Care Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 4 years required License: Current State RN Licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required; EPNC, TNCC preferred Must-Have: - Ability to operate advanced medical equipment - Experience in post-heart catheterization preferred - Pediatric experience preferred Description: The Progressive Care Nurse will provide care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients in a medical/surgical setting. This includes physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural support for patients. Anticipated patient populations include a wide range of medical and surgical conditions. Nurses will expect patients in relative stability while recognizing that diagnoses may require skilled assessment and intervention. Responsibilities include operating advanced medical equipment and caring for patients with central lines, chest tubes, and multiple IVs. The nurse will provide direct care for patients from admission to discharge. Collaboration with other professional disciplines is essential to ensure effective patient care delivery. Nurses will interact with patients and significant others while maintaining professional nursing standards. The ability to assess and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision is required. The nurse will act as a clinical leader and assist in precepting staff. Directions will be received from healthcare providers, charge nurses, and nursing leadership. The role will also include complementing the Medical Surgical Nursing Unit when staffing assistance is required. Knowledge of basic office equipment and advanced medical equipment operation is essential. The nurse must have advanced nursing principles and procedures knowledge, particularly related to medication management.
