About The Role We are looking for a profile that lies at the intersection of industrial and service design . The designer will be part of the design team which cross-functionally works with Product Managers, Full stack Software Engineers, Hardware Engineers, Regulatory Specialists and Data Scientists to develop meaningful products that improve people’s lives and healthcare knowledge around the world. Depending on seniority, the role might also interact with management, given that Empatica has a relatively flat organisation which encourages proactivity and impact over formality. The designer will lead the investigational expansive phase, supporting the cross-functional teams with service designer tools and practices, being able to empower contribution with a strong industrial design sensitivity and explore the boundaries when hardware comes into play. Some examples: Work on a wide range of projects, from service conceptualisation to proof of concept, from agile feature updates to brand new hardware products. Generate user requirements, wireframes, scenarios, flowcharts, design prototypes, and design specifications, applying best practices and standards related to user experience and information architecture across all Empatica product ecosystem. Ensure industrial designs and user interfaces communicate consistent, effective experiences and are aligned with the product strategy. Building an Industrial Material Design System. Coordinate with other senior designers and specialists. Requirements Hard skills Love what you do and have an opinion about things Strong design lead capability, combined with excellent execution skills and autonomy Degree in Design or a relevant field and/or post-graduate courses 6 years of experience as a (Full stack) designer with a strong portfolio of related projects, including Service Design and Industrial Design Master prototyping and production design tools related to both service and Industrial Design, such as Figma, 3D modeling and rendering package (Cinema 4D, Redshift), Adobe Suite Soft skills Solid and expanding knowledge base in design-related fields Pragmatic approach to parse complex data and information to get to the point quickly Get-things-done attitude with high-quality delivery Proficient communication skills in English Some important details Empatica operates in an international environment with offices in Europe, the US, and Korea. All work is conducted in English. Hybrid model: employees choose remote or office, but this position is not fully remote.
