Pay Information $2,278 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience excluding travel experience preferred. Applicants with 1.5 years of ICU experience excluding travel and significant RN experience outside of ICU may be considered upon approval. License: Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC (mandatory to obtain prior to arrival) Must-Have: Comfortable working a 48-hour workweek contract. Experience with complex ICU patients including surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases. Strong critical thinking and assessment skills, and ability to work well in a team in a fast-paced environment. Description: We are seeking experienced ICU registered nurses to join our team. The unit specializes in managing complex ICU patients. Patient diagnoses may include ARDS, myocardial infarction, CVA, COVID, post-surgical cases, and multi-system trauma. Cardiac experience is preferred but not required. Travelers will not take fresh open hearts unless they are experienced and the facility feels comfortable assigning them. Patient ratios typically range from 1:1 to 1:2, depending on acuity levels. Required skills include administering IV medications, hemodynamic line management, proning, ventilator management, and telemetry. Experience with Impella, IABP, and CRRT is strongly preferred. Applicants should be prepared to describe an instance where they exceeded a leader's expectations. Support on the unit includes a charge nurse overseeing ICUs and a resource nurse, with additional support from a respiratory therapist available 24/7. Travelers may float to other adult floors if overstaffed, with a standard ratio of 1:4. Weekend rotation occurs every other week, but shifts are not guaranteed.
