Job Description: As a Part Time Corrections Officer at Davison County, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety, security, and orderliness of the corrections facility. You will monitor the activities of inmates, enforce facility rules and regulations, and ensure a safe environment for all staff and inmates. Supervise inmate activities, including meals, recreation, and visitations. Conduct routine security checks and inspections to prevent escapes and maintain a secure facility. Respond to emergencies and maintain control during critical incidents, such as fights or disturbances. Monitor inmate behavior and report any unusual occurrences or signs of potential conflict. Escort inmates to various locations within the facility securely and in a timely manner. Assist in the intake and release process, including search and inventory of personal belongings. Document incidents, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records. Collaborate with fellow officers and staff to develop and implement strategies for maintaining a safe and secure environment. Attend trainings and workshops to enhance knowledge of corrections practices and procedures. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 21 years old. Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, including criminal history check. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure. Physical fitness and ability to handle emergency situations. Previous experience in law enforcement or corrections is preferred but not required.
