Job Description
About the Role: An exciting opportunity exists for a Fire Operations Officer, Operations working in the Park Operations and Community Partnerships Branch of the National Parks and Public Lands Division. The Fire Operations Officer, Operations is responsible for providing effective coordination of resources and logistical support to fire program delivery within the Adelaide Mount Lofty Ranges (AMLR) Region. This includes performing a range of operational, project-related and other tasks associated with contributing and increasing the capacity of the team. The role is also required to coordinate the region’s fire training, brigade maintenance, and recruitment for the seasonal fire program. The role will participate in prescribed burning operations, including assisting with prescribed burn implementation. What can we offer you! Special Conditions: Will be required to participate in responses to state emergencies or associated duties. The position is based at the Black Hill office (Athelstone). Must be physically fit and will be required to undertake a fitness assessment to a minimum standard for a Fire Fighting Role Classification as per the DEW Fire Policy and Procedures. May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel which may require the incumbent to be away from home for extended periods. Current class “C” driver’s licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential. Willingness to fly in light aircraft. Wearing a company uniform during working hours and/or when representing the department is mandatory. You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows you to work in Australia without restrictions. Prior to being employed, the successful applicant will be required to obtain a National Police Check. Remuneration: ASO4 $76,561 min - $80,256 max p.a.
