Job Description Job Description The Installer – Lead Mechanic Pro provides a high-quality customer experience by performing heating and air conditioning installations that meet company standards. Installations will include Advanced Controls and Troubleshooting abilities. This position will also supervise the work of other installers to maintain an exceptional and timely job performance. Requirements Must have a valid driver’s license Work from 28’ extension ladder and 12’ step ladder Must hold EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling License Ability to regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds Ability to work in usually loud conditions Ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, climb, balance, and smell Sitting may be required up to 75% of the time due to the primary function of driving Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus due to the constant maneuvering of vehicle in tight and high traffic areas. Meet all qualifications and have all tools required for Junior Tech to Lead Mechanic Pro levels Skills Demonstrate mechanical aptitude Safely operate hand and power tools and testing devices Clearly communicate with customers and coworkers Excellent customer service skills. Ability to communicate with the customer. Ability to handle challenging situations with customers. Safely operate genie and scissor lifts Ability to install and troubleshoot air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, and air handlers (including geothermal) Ability to troubleshoot the refrigeration cycle Advanced knowledge of line and low voltage systems. Ability to connect multiple accessories including zoning systems. Design, install and troubleshoot duct systems Ability to install hydronic systems Ability to install multizone and branch box style mini-split systems with complicated layouts Expectations & Responsibilities Adhere to vehicle policies and procedures Assist with daily equipment staging and job preparation Identify & report issues with any company tools or vehicles Oversee loading and replenishment of truck on daily basis Work well with customers, co-workers, subcontractors, and vendors Ensure all jobs are completed within the labor budget Complete all paperwork on a daily basis to include job packets, timecards, and any other installation forms Troubleshoot residential and light commercial systems Work a staggered schedule if required Obtain residential air balancing certification or ability to measure airflow and balance a duct system Knowledge and application of local and national codes – make sure the job will pass inspection Manage installers on current projects and assist with supervision of additional install teams Follow instructions from supervisor and/or dispatcher Size and draw ductwork correctly Train all installation employees Consult on customer complaints and find solutions that benefit both customer and company Always maintain a professional appearance and attitude Other duties as assigned Oversee each installation from start to finish without supervision Performance Measurements Punctuality Willingness to pursue continuing education Adherence to company policy and procedures Quality of work to company and customer standards Callback percentage less than 3% Completion of all install paperwork Completion of 95% of jobs within the labor budget Excellent quarterly reviews Positive customer and coworker reviews Leadership ability Training Advanced low voltage controls Duct design Zoning controls Commercial installation practices Air balancing Geothermal Retrofit Installations and GPM Settings Specialty equipment Modulating Systems and Operation Installation of Conventional & Condensing Boilers Recommending additional services to customers Company Description We are a small family owned and operated HVAC shop with Residential, Light commercial and restaurant refrigeration accounts.
