The STEM mentorship position offers students the opportunity to build experience and knowledge through a range of skills in a collaborative and supportive environment. Mentors will gain hands-on experience with fostering leadership, teamwork, decision-making, and organizational skills in our STEM Innovation Lab. The Mentor will also help and assist in the completion of the new STEM space. As well as assist the Coordinator in the lab as needed. 1. Maintain and facilitate lab space. 2. Help create and organize activities and workshops. 3. Help in completion of setting up the new STEM space in Frost Building. 4. Help students in setting up and finding materials needed to explore STEM fields. 6. Ensure that snacks and materials are stocked, labeled, and organized. 7. Ensure all students have filled out permission and liability forms. 8. Ensures every student is utilizing the Navigate laptop to scan in and out of space. 9. Other duties as assigned by the director. *Required Qualifications:* 1. Must be a current Holyoke Community College student in any of the STEM majors. 2. Ability to work independently and in groups. 3. Ability to facilitate and support students in the space. 4. Good communication skills. 5. Good organizational skills. 6. Ability to maintain safety in the lab space. *Preferred Qualifications: * 1. Dedication to inspiring students to learn about STEM. 2. Experience in either tutoring or supplemental instruction.3.
