IT Security Analyst I

*Department*Information Security*Compensation*$60,000.00 to Negotiable Annual* General Description* The Information Security Analyst I, under the direction of a Manager or above, analyzes information security systems and application logs for events. Assists in the design, development and implementation of departmental processes and/or programs. Assignments are routine in nature, require close supervision and largely follow established procedures and guidelines. Recommends policies and procedures to ensure effective coordination of departmental programs. *Job Function* - Completes tasks designed to ensure security of the organization’s systems and information assets. -Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. -Works with individual users to determine needs of departments. - Investigates alerts and follows established procedures to remediate conditions that do not follow approved policies and guidelines. - Provides technical assistance and support for incoming information security queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware. - Reviews violations of computer security procedures and discusses proper procedures with violators to ensure violations are not repeated. -Works collaboratively with university staff to ensure program’s success. - During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job-related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence. -This position is designated as a Tier 2 respondent for designated campus emergencies and events. In the event of a declared campus emergency, the position incumbent will make every effort to return to campus when directed. *Marginal Functions * Attends meetings, utilizes staff resources when situations require additional expertise, serves on committees, task forces and work groups. * Required Qualifications*Master's or Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. * Statement(s) of Understanding*This position requires a background check.
