Head Chef – Traditional Country Pub (Lea, Matlock, Derbyshire) Permanent, Live-Out | £41,000 per annum | 40 hours per week We are looking for a talented and passionate Head Chef to lead the kitchen at our much-loved country pub in Lea, Matlock. Serving proper pub food, local cask ales, and welcoming both families and dogs, we pride ourselves on offering hearty classics in a relaxed, friendly setting. With live music events throughout the year and a sun-soaked garden terrace for the warmer months, our pub is a true community hub. The Role: As Head Chef, you will be responsible for: * Designing and delivering a delicious winter menu, plus weekly specials with your own creative stamp. * Leading the kitchen team to deliver consistent, freshly cooked pub classics. * Managing stock, ordering, and kitchen costings. * Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food hygiene. * Working collaboratively with management to ensure smooth service. About You: * Previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef, ideally in a pub or casual dining setting. * A love of proper pub food with the creativity to add your own twist. * Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate a small team. * Organised, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards. * Flexible and able to thrive in a busy, community-focused environment.
