Pay Information $3,018 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10 Hours Experience: 1 Years of Cath Lab Experience License: State Licensure in Michigan Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA) Must-Have: - Cath Lab RN Experience - BLS ACLS (AHA) - Interventional Radiology Experience - Highly Preferred - 1 Years of Experience in Electrophysiology - Highly Preferred - Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation - Highly Preferred - Knowledge of Operation of Intraaortic Balloon Pump - Highly Preferred - Travel Experience - Highly Preferred - Epic Experience - Preferred Description: This position cares for patients before, during, and after angiography, interventional, angiographic cardiac catheterization procedures, and other diagnostic testing and procedures. This includes pre-procedure assessment, pre-medication, documentation of catheterization process, post-cath care, and patient education. Scrubs in for procedures and assists other members of the cardiac catheterization laboratory. Performs nursing care of the catheterization/angiography cardiovascular patient. Conducts other cardiac diagnostic nursing procedures according to department protocol. Assisting in stress echocardiogram, routine treadmill exam, nuclear and pharmacologic stress testing, tilt table, echocardiograms, cardioversions, and transesophageal echocardiograms. Assists with preparation, procedure, and recovery for other interventional radiology procedures. Evaluates and screens patients for safety prior to performing testing. Provides sedation monitoring in accordance with hospital policy and documents appropriately. Handles Holter monitor application, event monitor application, ambulatory blood pressure monitor application, and pacemaker interrogations. Inserts PICC lines and functions as a vascular access expert to meet patients' needs. Performs other necessary tasks as assigned by the manager. Operates equipment and manages supplies, including cardiac output, hemodynamic monitoring, pacemakers/ICDs, intraaortic balloon pumps, crash carts, IV pumps, defibrillators, point-of-care glucometer/blood sugar testing, stress machines, and other nursing supplies. Records all pertinent information on appropriate data sheets. Develops, reviews, and enhances cardiovascular education materials and programs.
