Pay Information $2,336 per week About The Position Job Title: RN Clinical Periop Nurse Profession: OR RN Specialty: RN Registered / Licensed - Inpatient Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 7:15 AM - 3:30 PM Experience: 3 years of circulating experience License: RN - Multi-state Compact or single state Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - Instructor Must-Have: Diploma from an accredited nursing program Completion of an accredited/approved school of nursing with requisite clinical hours Description: The RN Clinical Periop Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders. Support is provided through a shared governance model. The framework for practice is guided by a Professional Practice Model, 5-Star Nursing, and evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by core competencies. All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act. They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards. As a member of the patient services team, they uphold the voice of the patient while supporting service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Performs the Nursing Process, including assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care. Uses evidence-based practice and analytical/critical thinking to ensure care is individualized. Coordinates care through effective partnerships, recognizing that caring is central to achieving optimal patient outcomes. Provides relationship-based patient-centered care that adapts service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity. Partners with patients and significant others appropriately, using methods suited for setting and purpose. Practices using current clinical practice standards. Teamwork and Collaboration: Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care. Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration, practicing in a manner that is fiscally responsible. Participates in performance improvement initiatives, research, and promotes safe, quality patient care. Professional Development and Initiative: Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education. Serves as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses to ensure a qualified workforce. Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Promotes evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement. Participates in data collection and poses relevant clinical questions to advanced evidence-based practice. Resources and Support: Plans for the care of patients across the care continuum during direct patient care. Participates in the development of protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers and other team members. Supports the efficient and effective use of human and material resources. Performs other duties as assigned.
