Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities Manage the housekeeping department to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance standards are upheld. Oversee and manage linen services, including stock levels, distribution, and laundry procedures. Implement and monitor housekeeping audit procedures to maintain service quality. Conduct regular room inspections to ensure cleanliness and compliance with hotel standards. Manage housekeeping staff schedules, performance, and training. Ensure proper storage and usage of cleaning materials and supplies. Maintain stock control and be accountable for loss prevention within the department. Handle guest requests, concerns, and complaints related to housekeeping efficiently and professionally. Maintain accurate records of housekeeping operations, stock levels, and audits. Work closely with the Housekeeping Supervisor and other departments to ensure smooth daily operations. Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene regulations. Desired Experience & Qualification Minimum of 2 years experience in a housekeeping supervisory or managerial role, preferably in a hotel environment. Proven experience managing large housekeeping operations (preferably 100 rooms). Knowledge of linen management and housekeeping audit procedures. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Attention to detail and a commitment to service excellence. Ability to handle stock control and loss prevention responsibilities. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Matric (Grade 12) required; hospitality or housekeeping qualification is an advantage. Previous housekeeping management experience in a hotel with 100 rooms is preferred.
