Corinthia Rome is preparing to open its doors in one of the most prestigious and historic locations in the city — and we are looking for an outstanding Cost Controller to join our pre-opening team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to shaping and training a synergical and remarkable Finance team. A Cost Controller is responsible for managing and analyzing costs to ensure projects are completed within budget, optimizing financial performance, and providing detailed financial reports. Our Cost Controller will synergically liaise with all Finance team members and HODs. What you will focus on Checking figures, postings and documents for accuracy, such as daily food portions, covers, sales and cost reports Analysing the consumptions and ordering patterns to assure if they meet the agreed budgets, costing and standards in compliance with Corinthia SOPs Thorough understanding of Hotel operations, particularly in F&B cost control Monitoring and controlling all costs associated with the Hotel Preparing and analysing financial statements, budgets, and forecasts Reviewing and reconciling invoices and purchase orders Identifying areas of cost savings and control Ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures Managing internal and external audits Developing and implementing cost control strategies and systems Providing training and guidance to staff on cost control Monitoring and reporting on budget performance Maintaining accurate financial records Providing regular reports to management Coordinating cost control tasks and procedure with other departments, assuring that the activities are completed on time and meet Corinthia quality standards Supporting Finance team to reach common goals and deadlines. Who we are looking for At least 2 years of experience in Cost Control preferably within Luxury Hospitality Proven experience in Hotel accounting and mandatory knowledge of Hotel operations and point of sales systems Degree in Economics Proficiency in Italian and English (written and spoken) High ability to interpret and report financial information and high confidentiality Excellent time management for meeting strict deadlines Knowledge of inventory and procurement processes Sun System, Simphony, Adaco and Opera Cloud proficiency is a great plus Excellent spread sheet and word processing skills (Microsoft Office) A proactive, collaborative, team working mindset, high attention to details and stress management are a must Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving Team player with the ability to collaborate with various departments to achieve cost-saving goals.
