Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details Location: Petersburg, VA 23805 (Virginia nursing jobs) Unit: Medical/Surgical Telemetry Unit 5E (30-bed unit, flexes to 37 beds) Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), every other weekend and major holidays required Hours per Week: 36 Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/3/2025 – End: 1/31/2026) Weekly Estimated Pay: $1880-$2020 Interview: No interview required for this healthcare job Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (required for all travel nursing jobs) BLS certification (required prior to direct patient care) Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience (required) At least 1 year of travel RN experience (required) Successful completion of dysrhythmia exam (study guide provided) Surgical nursing experience preferred EPIC EHR experience preferred Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (per travel nurse guidelines) Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans Administer medications safely in accordance with hospital policies and nursing standards Coordinate patient care and serve as the primary point of contact for interdisciplinary teams Advocate for patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives Manage care for patients with multi-system organ failure and trauma Float to other medical/surgical units as needed to provide clinical support Perform phlebotomy and collaborate with CNAs and sitters Utilize the AACN Synergy Model to promote patient stability and recovery Respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions and medical emergencies Maintain professionalism, effective communication, and cultural sensitivity in all patient interactions Ready to take the next step in your nursing career?
