Pay Information $2,027 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing required. License: Valid state license required at the time of submission. Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred. Must-Have: - Experience in telemetry and interpretation of dysrhythmias - Ability to manage dysrhythmias - Experience with adult patients only Description: Seeking an experienced registered nurse for a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to adult patients diagnosed with various conditions, including diabetes, congestive heart failure, infection, sepsis, COPD, and general surgical procedures. The role requires managing patient care, including telemetry monitoring and interpreting dysrhythmias. The unit handles a significant number of surgical cases and accommodates a variety of patient diagnoses. Special procedures on the unit include orthopedic, colorectal surgeries, vascular procedures, and bariatric surgery. Nurses will be expected to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity as needed. The average daily census for the unit is 30 patients with a room capacity of 44 beds. The patient-nurse ratio is 1:5. Weekend coverage is required, with six weekend shifts in six weeks. Scrubs will not be provided; nurses are expected to wear designated scrubs. Nurses must have experience with various medical equipment and protocols, including patient lifts, telemetry monitoring, and related care management tasks. All travelers are required to have BLS certification and are preferred to hold ACLS certification, although ACLS is not mandatory for this role. No exemptions are allowed for the flu vaccine. Candidates must provide two supervisor references.
