Data Architect

Overview A project to identify, sequence and implement specific capability enhancements that progress and build out the medallion architecture. The scope of the strategic objectives includes system robustness, security, performance, improving storage architectures, and building improved support for analytics and BI. Responsibilities Participates in building out the cloud data architecture including the medallion architecture based Databricks Lakehouse. Extends / establishes reference architecture and patterns as needed. Supports the Data Architects on solutions development to review solution, provide guidance and establish standards. Provides architecture, technical guidance and support to other projects involving cloud data usage. Provide technical advice and support to the Practice Lead of Data Architecture in implementing the cloud data architecture. Supports enterprise governance committees in decision-making by reviewing presentations and deliverables and providing cloud data architectural guidance and recommendations to project teams as required. Provides technical advice during the transition of data assets to a cloud-based environment. Assists in successful completion of data architecture activities and deliverables. Collaborate with technical leads of other enterprise architecture domains (business, solution, infrastructure, and security) to ensure effective and efficient delivery of technical solutions. Assists in troubleshooting and developing solutions to data related issues. Contributes to proofs of concept and prototypes to enhance technical capabilities for business needs. Qualifications Enterprise cloud data architecture experience on the Microsoft Azure platform. Experience in Databricks administration, configuration, and development at a senior level. Experience building Lakehouse architecture with Databricks or similar technologies. Ability to create and run Terraform and ARM templates. Ability to conduct, document, and diagram data architecture and design artifacts. Well-versed in enterprise cloud data patterns. Skilled or experienced in cloud data provisioning and administration in Microsoft Azure. Cloud. Skilled developer on the Azure Databricks platform, with focus on SparkSQL and experience with administering and extending Unity Catalog. Good working knowledge of Azure Data Factory. Recommendation Good communication and teamwork skills demonstrated by experience. Ability to provide recommendations to support data strategy. Enterprise data architecture and cloud data migration experience would be a great asset. Deliverables Data Architecture support, including project support and ongoing maintenance. Data Architecture artifacts including reference architecture and solution diagrams as part of project deliverables. Data analysis documents and scripts as part of troubleshooting and solution to data issues. Implementation of data assets in cloud, including provisioning of storage and databases, with Terraform/ARM templates for Cloud Implementation. Establishing data pipelines and support required for CI/CD. Data migration work to move data assets to cloud environment.
