Travel Nurse RN - Medical-Surgical - $2,226 per week in Long Beach, CA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: MedSurg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS required, Chemotherapy preferred Must-Have: Cerner experience required. Must be able to read strips when floated to Med/Tele Floor. Description: Unit consists of 46 beds. Patient-nurse ratio is 5:1. Charge nurse position available with no patient assignment. Nurse aides present with a ratio of 1:12 during days and 1:14 during nights. Every other weekend commitment is required. Holiday shifts are required and will rotate with core staff. Scrub colors: RN - Navy Blue, Aides - Hunter Green. Floating to MedSurg and Tele is required within skill set. Clinical conditions commonly encountered include pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, ESRD, cellulitis, GI issues, gunshot wounds, stab wounds, and neuro issues related to trauma. Drip management includes Heparin and blood. Ventilator management is not required, although there may be bipap and cpap use at night. Hospitalists or intensivists are on-site. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. Pharmacy services are available 24/7. Shifts run from 0630 to 1900 and 1830 to 0700. Nurse's ability to read strips is not necessary, but skills will be required if floating to MedSurg and Tele. Cancellation policy allows for shifts to be canceled. Charting system utilized is Cerner. BSN is not required. Trauma care provided is at acute level. Nursing division only.
